Electro Rover
Living smart-spender Electro Rover guide for general players (not whale ceiling). Free 5★ Electro Sword Hybrid / sub-DPS. Male and female Rover play identically. Banner art: official Kuro “Vessel of Sounds — Rover: Electro” profile reveal (official X, 8 Jul 2026). Checked 5 Oct 2026 HKT.
Controls note: DualSense defaults: □ Normal Attack · △ Resonance Skill · R2 Resonance Liberation · R1 Dodge · L1+□ Echo · character switch = Intro/Outro. Hold □ = Parry Stance (release for Riposte Strike). Tap vs hold △ matters at full Forte (see below). Rebinds differ, so match your own layout.
Brief summary
Electro Rover unlocks free in the 3.5 main quest (Chapter IV Act II, Xuanling Sings, Storm Quelled). In 3.7 they have one job: Hsin’s Electro Flare partner.
- Hsin’s kit names them. When Electro Rover casts their Intro Skill, both Hsin and Rover get +20% Electro DMG for 30s (Prydwen kit text). Add Flare application, the Flash of Electric Reflection Outro buff, and Rover’s own Outro (25% All DMG Amp), and no free unit buffs Hsin more.
- Kit loop: fill Electric Surge (120) → tap △ to cast Overshock. That deals Rover’s main damage, applies 10 Electro Flare stacks, and gives the team +10% ATK for 20s. Then Outro into Hsin.
- Ratings: Prydwen T1 Hybrid (at S2) in both Tower of Adversity and Whimpering Wastes, and “the best secondary for Hsin in Electro Flare teams currently”. Game8 lists them as an S-rank sub-DPS.
- Weak outside Hsin. Prydwen calls them “essentially a completely useless character in the current meta… outside of Hsin Electro Flare teams”. Game8 is kinder: they can still slot into other Negative Status teams with Moonlit Clouds (see Disagreements).
Smart-spender verdict: build them only if you own Hsin (or plan to). They’re nearly free: a free character, free sequences, a standard-banner weapon, and an Echo set you can reuse later.
Build guide + echoes
Cost pattern: 4 / 3 / 3 / 1 / 1. Soulfrayer is the 3-cost main echo (Kuro lists it as 3 / 4 / 3 / 1 / 1, Game8 writes it the same way).
| Use case | 5-pc set | Main echo | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hsin Flare (BiS) | Flash of Electric Reflection | Soulfrayer | 2-pc: +10% Electro. 5-pc: after inflicting Flare, +10% Electro for 15s, and Outro gives the incoming unit +25% Electro DMG for 15s. Soulfrayer’s Outro adds +12% Electro for a 37% total (Prydwen). Prydwen, Game8 and Kuro all agree |
| Kuro alt | Heart of Sworn Vigil | Reminiscence: Suhsin the Inevitable | Kuro’s listed fallback. Both pieces are Hsin’s BiS, so don’t take them from her |
| Other Neg Status teams (Game8) | Moonlit Clouds | Impermanence Heron | General Outro buffer for Yangyang Xuanling / Hiyuki / Aemeath |
Main stats: 4-cost CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG. Pick the one your weapon lacks: CD with Emerald of Genesis (CR weapon), CR with Blazing Brilliance (CD weapon). Saintontas made the same CR-with-Blazing call on stream. Kuro lists CR. · 3-cost Electro DMG ×2 · 1-cost ATK% ×2.
Substats: reach your ER floor → CRIT Rate = CRIT DMG → Resonance Skill DMG% ≈ ATK% → flat ATK. Sources disagree on ER (see the stat table below). Kuro even puts ER last (≥110%). In practice 120–125% ER is the safe zone.
Echo tip (Saintontas, 4 Oct): Flash of Electric Reflection will probably carry over to the eventual Electro Flare sub-DPS or support, so a solid double-crit set isn’t wasted.
Best weapon
| Rank | Weapon | Prydwen % (Hsin/Suisui team) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Blazing Brilliance R1 (Changli sig) | 100 | Rover is a Skill-DMG dealer. Game8 #1, Kuro alt, Saintontas uses it |
| 2 | Red Spring R1 | 93.0 | Some Basic-attack value |
| 3 | Azure Oath / Everbright Polestar / Emerald Sentence R1 | 92.1–92.2 | Stat sticks |
| 4 | Frostburn R1 | 91.5 | Stat stick |
| Free pick | Emerald of Genesis R1 (standard) | 91.4 | Kuro’s #1 recommendation. Game8’s best budget option: CR, +12.8% ER, ATK stacks on Skill |
| 4★ | Feather Edge R5 (Battle Pass) | 81.4 | Prydwen’s best 4★. Game8/Kuro also list Endless Collapse, Commando of Conviction, Somnoire Anchor |
| No-gacha | Fables of Wisdom R5 | 78.0 | Prydwen’s best no-gacha option |
Gap: Blazing Brilliance is only about +8.6% over Emerald of Genesis (100 vs 91.4), and it only raises Rover’s own damage. The buffs Hsin cares about (Intro +20%, set +25%, Soulfrayer +12%, Outro 25% Amp, team +10% ATK) don’t scale with Rover’s weapon. Never pull for Blazing Brilliance just for Rover. Use EoG or any spare 5★ sword.
Target endgame stats (Lv.90)
| Stat | Prydwen | Kuro | Others |
|---|---|---|---|
| ATK | 2100–2400+ | ≥2200 | — |
| CRIT Rate | 65–80%+ | ≥70% | — |
| CRIT DMG | 210–260%+ | ≥260% | — |
| Energy Regen | 117–120%+ (low = Suisui team, high = Buling team) | ≥110% | Game8 ~120%. Saintontas: 120% playable but caused a third-rotation miss, ~125% comfy |
| Electro DMG% | 40–70%+ | — | — |
| HP / DEF | 15000+ / 1100+ | — | — |
Skill priority
| Source | Order |
|---|---|
| Prydwen | Forte → Liberation → Basic → Skill → Intro (skip) |
| Game8 | Forte → Liberation → Normal → Skill → Intro |
| Kuro | Forte → Skill → Liberation → Normal → Intro |
Everyone agrees: Forte Circuit first, Intro last. Intro damage barely matters, but always enter Rover through their Intro, because that cast is what triggers Hsin’s +20% Electro buff.
Sequences + breakpoint
Rover’s sequences come free from story Wavebands. One confirmed source is the 3.6 quest Song of the Heart Sword (Chapter IV Act III). Prydwen rates Electro Rover at S2, and top rotation showcases use S2, so S2 looks like what most players have right now. Check your own Resonance Chain screen.
| Node | Effect | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| S1 | Anti-interrupt on Normal / Thrum of All Sounds | Comfort |
| S2 | Liberation inflicts +5 Electro Flare (15 total per rotation) | The breakpoint. Game8 ★4, Kuro recommended, and the only node Prydwen rates |
| S3 | Overshock multiplier +20% | Small personal gain |
| S4 | Liberation multiplier +20% | Small personal gain |
| S5 / S6 | +20% CRIT DMG in Apex Resonance / Thrum of All Sounds + Thunder Bane +20% | Kuro recommends them for on-field Rover. Prydwen: useless in Hsin teams (you never hold △) |
Definitive call: S2 + Emerald of Genesis R1 = zero-spend endgame Rover. Take later nodes as the story hands them out. Spend nothing on Rover itself. Upgrade Hsin first (S0R1 → S3R1, see the Hsin guide).
Best teams + full rotations (PS)
Two timers to respect:
- Hsin’s +20% Electro (30s) only triggers on Rover’s Intro, so always switch into Rover from a full-Concerto Outro.
- Rover’s Outro (Electro Core → 25% All DMG Amp, 14s) starts when Hsin inflicts Flare and ends when Hsin swaps out. Saintontas (4 Oct) timed Hsin’s Flare rotation at about 12.8s frame-perfect, ~13.2s played normally. That leaves under 1s of slack, so don’t waste dodges or swap-cancel mid-Hsin.
Never hold △ at full Forte in these teams. Holding enters Apex Resonance: you lose the team ATK buff, spend 60 Concerto, and burn field time on “objectively mediocre damage” (Prydwen).
Rover standard (Prydwen):
Intro → □ ×4 → △ (Thunderclap) → □ (Repel; cancel its endlag with R2) → R2 → tap △ (Overshock: 10 Flare + team ATK) → L1+□ Soulfrayer (any time) → Outro to Hsin
Rover simple (Game8): Intro → △ → □ until Forte is full → tap △ → R2 → L1+□ → Outro.
Hsin Flare loop (from the Hsin guide):
Intro → □ to Basic 4 → hold □ Heavy → R2 Formshift → △ → □ □ (cancel with △) → △ Pillars Aligned → □ ×4 → hold □ Heavy → R2 Pillars Across Heaven → △ → Outro
1) Hsin / Electro Rover / Suisui (best)
- Suisui: □ until Forte is full → △ (stance) → mid-air □ plunge → □ ×4 → R2 → L1+□ → Outro to Rover
- Rover: Intro → standard rotation → Outro to Hsin
- Hsin: loop above → Outro to Suisui (skip Suisui’s step-1 opener after the first rotation)
A community showcase (Riju on X, S0R1 Hsin / S2 Rover / S0 Suisui) clocks about 27–30s per full rotation. That fits inside the 30s Intro buff.
2) F2P: Hsin / Electro Rover / Buling
Same order with Buling instead of Suisui. Buling also applies Flare and buffs Skill DMG. Kuro’s listed alt, and the cheapest complete team.
Rover double-Intro (Prydwen, for this team): Intro → hold-and-release □ Riposte Strike → swap out → swap back for a second Intro → △ → □ Repel (cancel with R2) → R2 → tap △ Overshock → Outro. The Riposte is mandatory because it supplies the Concerto Energy the rotation needs.
3) Quickswap: Hsin / Electro Rover / Chisa
Prydwen says Chisa can beat Suisui for skilled quickswap players. Riju shows about 28s (S0R1 Chisa). Pre-build Rover’s Electric Surge with □ / △ during other units’ turns so their field time shrinks.
Outside Hsin (Game8 only)
Yangyang Xuanling / Electro Rover (Moonlit Clouds) / Chisa, with Hiyuki or Aemeath as main-DPS swaps. Game8 says skip Rover for Zani (use Spectro Rover) and Cartethyia (use Aero Rover).
Role vs other Rovers
| Rover | Job in 3.7 |
|---|---|
| Electro | Hsin Electro Flare Hybrid. Little use elsewhere (Prydwen) |
| Spectro | Spectro Frazzle (Zani) support (Game8) |
| Aero | Aero Erosion (Cartethyia) support (Game8) |
| Havoc | F2P Havoc main DPS |
All forms share Rover’s level. You only pay for the weapon, echoes and Forte of each form.
Current relevance (3.7 Phase 1)
- Now: a must-build if you pulled Hsin (banner runs 30 Sep → ~22 Oct 2026 per Game8; check the exact time in-game). Prydwen: Hsin’s Flare teams “are still restricted to using Electro Rover and Suisui at best outside of Quickswap”.
- Ceiling caveat: Prydwen calls Rover’s buffs low and the rotation long, so they “may easily be outclassed” by a future limited Electro Flare Hybrid. Riju (X, 2 Oct) argues Rover needs a signature weapon that buffs the main DPS, and that the Flare team is one of the weaker setups. Saintontas (4 Oct) found the team very unforgiving, mainly because of the 14s Outro window.
- Unison path: Hsin’s other mode waits on Suoming (unreleased). Master (Taiwan) says to move Hsin to Unison once Suoming arrives, which would bench Rover in that mode.
Disagreements flagged
- ER: Kuro ≥110% (lowest substat priority) · Prydwen 117–120% · Game8 ~120% · Saintontas ~125% comfy.
- Weapon #1: Prydwen / Game8 / Saintontas say Blazing Brilliance. Kuro recommends EoG first. The gap is only ~8.6% of Rover’s personal damage.
- Main echo: Prydwen / Game8 / Kuro say Soulfrayer. Sportskeeda pairs Flash with Suhsin, which collides with Hsin’s own BiS.
- Outside Hsin: Game8 says Rover is a usable Neg Status buffer. Prydwen says they’re useless outside Hsin, because the Outro expires on swap and the buffs are small.
- Late sequences: Kuro recommends S5/S6 for on-field Rover. Prydwen says they do nothing in practice.
- Lynae: Master (Taiwan) swaps Rover for Lynae on veteran accounts. Prydwen / Game8 / Kuro list Rover.
